Maike is a German psychologist, designer and synesthesia artist. She has a rare and fascinating neuropsychological condition called Synesthesia. This means that due to hyperconnectivity between brain areas she experiences most day to day things through not only one but two senses! For example: Voices and music appear as colours and shapes in her mind's eye. So do emotions, physical touch and even orgasms. Every letter and number has a colour and time concepts are arranged in a specific way in the room. Since 2021, she's transformed her synesthetic experience into digital art and also launched the "Let's talk synesthesia" podcast, combining her two biggest interests: design and psychology.
